Cake with candles is a fun birthday tradition.

초를 꽂은 케이크는 재미있는 생일 전통이다.

But how did it begin?

Cake with candles dates back to ancient Greece.

초를 꽂은 케이크는 고대 그리스로 거슬러 올라간다.

The ancient Greeks were probably the first to put candles on cake.

아마도 고대 그리스인들이 케이크에 초를 꽂은 최초의 사람들이었을 것이다.

They gave gifts to Artemis, the goddess of the moon.

They gave her small cakes with candles.

The candles made the cakes glow like the moon.

Some people believed that smoke from candles carried prayers to heaven.

However, Germans probably made cake with candles a birthday tradition.

Tags and collars are often used, but they can be lost or stolen.
