Scottie looked at the list and saw his name.
Scottie는 명단을 보았고 자신의 이름을 보았다.
Then he sighed and put a check next to Michael’s name.
그리고는 한숨을 쉰 후 Michael의 이름 옆에 체크 표시를 하였다.
He couldn’t deny that Michael was good enough for the senior team.
그는 Michael이 시니어 팀에 충분히 훌륭하다는 것을 부인할 수 없었다.
The coach collected every card from the boys.
코치가 소년들로부터 모든 카드를 거두었다.
Everyone’s hopes were high.
모든 선수들의 바람은 높았다.
They all wanted to be on the senior team.

The coach looked up and said, “Well, it’s a tie between Michael and Scottie.”
코치가 올려다보고 말했다. “흠, Michael과 Scottie가 동점이구나.”
Scottie’s heart leaped.
Scottie의 심장이 뛰었다.
He was surprised that he was tied with Michael.

“Well,” said the coach, “both are wonderful enough for the senior team, and it’s hard to pick just one player. But I have to, so I’ll pick Scottie.”

Then the coach walked over to Scottie and said, “Congratulations!”

“Thank you, but Michael is such a good shot. He makes the most baskets,” said Scottie.

“Of course, he does,” said the coach.

“But he shoots whether there’s a player in a better position or not. It’s important to play for the team! Don’t worry. I know a good player when I see one.”
“그러나 Michael은 더 나은 위치에 선수가 있든 없든, 슛을 쏴. 팀을 위해 경기하는 것이 중요해! 걱정 마. 나는 보면 좋은 선수인지 안단다.
Scottie walked out of the room.
Scottie는 방 밖으로 걸어 나갔다.
He felt like giving a loud and happy shout.
그는 크고 기쁜 소리를 지르고 싶은 마음이었다.
Then he saw Michael.
그때 그는 Michael을 보았다.
Suddenly Scottie felt sorry for him.
갑자기 Scottie는 그에게 미안한 감정이 들었다.
“I guess you don’t care, but I picked you for the senior team,” said Scottie.
“나는 네가 신경 쓰지 않으리라 추측하지만, 나는 시니어 팀에 너를 뽑았어.”라고 Scottie가 말했다.
Michael smiled. “You know what? I picked YOU.”

Scottie was surprised. “You did?”

“Yeah. You always do your best, and you’re a team player. Today you played for the team, and we won the game. Congratulations!”
