Day1

첫째 날

Full of excitement and anticipation, I began my journey at Heunginjimun Gate, the gate on the east side of the wall.

흥분과 기대를 가득 안고, 나는 성벽의 동쪽에 있는 문인 흥인지문에서 여행을 시작했다.

Not far from there was the Seoul City Wall Museum.

그곳에서 멀지 않은 곳에 한양도성 박물관이있었다.

I stopped by this museum to learn all about the history of the wall before I started my walk.

나는 도보 여행을 시작하기 전에 성벽의 역사에 관한 모든 것을 배우기 위해 이 박물관에 들렀다.

Then I passed through Ihwa Maeul, a village that was home to refugees following the Korean War.

그러고 나서 나는 한국 전쟁 이후에 피난민들의 거주지였던 마을인 이화마을을 지나갔다.

Now, the village is decorated with colorful wall paintings and sculptures.

현재, 그 마을은 다채로운 벽화와 조각품으로 꾸며져 있다.

I was pleasantly surprised by the creativity of the artists.

나는 예술가들의 창의력에 기분 좋게 놀랐다.

They have turned the village into a delightful place where visitors can enjoy art everywhere they look.

그들은 그 마을을 방문객들이 보는 곳마다 예술을 즐길 수 있는 즐거운 장소로 바꿔 놓았다.

After looking around in this charming little village, I crossed over Naksan Mountain, which is the lowest of Seoul’s four inner mountains.

이 매력적인 작은 마을을 둘러본 뒤 나는 낙산을 넘어갔는데, 그곳은 서울의 내사산 중 가장 낮다.

Naksan Mountain is also known as “Naktasan Mountain,” or “Camel Mountain,” because of its resemblance to a camel’s back.

낙산은 낙타 등과의 유사성 때문에 ‘낙타산’으로도 알려져 있다.

At last, I finished my walk at Hyehwamun Gate, one of the wall’s four smaller gates.

마침내, 나는 성벽의 사소문 중 하나인 혜화문에서 도보 여행을 마쳤다.

Thanks to Naksan Mountain’s gentle slope, the day’s walk ended up being pleasurable and relatively easy.

낙산의 완만한 경사 덕분에, 그날의 도보 여행은 즐겁고 비교적 수월하게 끝났다.
