This morning we flew into the airport and came to the island by water taxi.

오늘 아침 공항에 도착해서 수상 택시를 타고 섬으로 왔다.

After the long flight, it was refreshing to travel across the water by boat.

긴 여행 끝에 보트를 타고 물살을 가로질러 이동하는 것은 상쾌했다.

Our driver even let my younger sister take a turn steering the boat, and she was thrilled!

운전기사는 여동생이 조종을 할 수 있도록 해주었고 그녀는 몹시 흥분했다.

At last I stepped into Venice with a pounding heart, just like Portia.

마침내 나는 Portia처럼 뛰는 가슴을 안고 베니스에 들어섰다.

The first thing that impressed me about the city was how colorful it was.

도시에 대한 나의 첫인상은 도시의 색이 매우 다채롭다는 것이었다.

The walls were covered with bright blues, greens, oranges and every other color.

벽들은 밝은 파란색, 녹색, 오렌지색과 여러 가지 색들로 칠해져 있었다.

We stayed at a building that used to be a palace hundreds of years ago.

우리는 수백 년 전에 궁전이었던 건물에 묵었다.

It was a home turned into a bed-and-breakfast and was run by a very sweet old lady.

그것은 가정집이었는데 아침식사를 제공하는 민박집으로 변신했고, 다정한 노부인이 운영하고 있었다.

The lady told us a lot about the palace and the area as well.

그 부인은 우리들에게 궁전과 그 지역에 관해서 많은 것들을 이야기해 주었다.

By the time we were ready for dinner, I was extremely hungry.

저녁식사가 준비되었을 즈음에는 나는 무척이나 배가 고팠다.

I’m glad I was so hungry because we went to Dalla Marisa, a traditional Italian restaurant.

전통적인 이탈리아 식당인 Dalla Marisa에 갔기 때문에 나는 배가 몹시 고파서 다행이었다.

There are no menus at the restaurant.

식당에는 메뉴가 없었다.

The guests simply eat whatever Marisa is cooking that day.

손님들은 그냥 Marisa에서 그날 요리하는 것을 먹는다.

Since it was Tuesday, we had fresh fish with bread and salad.

화요일이었기 때문에 우리는 빵과 샐러드를 곁들인 신선한 생선을 먹었다.

There was far more than I could eat, but it was all delicious.

내가 먹을 수 없을 정도로 많은 양이었지만 모두가 맛있었다.
