The most notable feature of Dutch homes is their large windows, which are traditionally left uncovered both during the day and through the night.

One advantage of these windows is that they allow homes to be flooded with natural light.

Virtuous people, in their eyes, have nothing to hide and therefore have no reason to draw their curtains.

Large, uncovered windows, in other words, show exactly what’s happening inside the home and prove that there is nothing wrong going on.
