How does looking at a beautiful painting make you feel?

Surprisingly, some people might answer that it makes them feel sick.

놀랍게도, 어떤 사람들은 그것이 그들을 아프다고 느끼게 만든다고 대답할지도 모른다.

They experience a condition called "Stendhal's syndrome."

그들은 ‘스탕달 증후군’이라 불리는 질환을 겪고 있다.

The syndrome is named after a French writer called Stendhal, who was overwhelmed when he visited Florence in 1817.

그 증후군은 스탕달이라는 프랑스 작가의 이름을 따서 붙여졌는데 그는 1817년에 피렌체를 방문했을 때 감정에 압도당했다.

The city was so rich in art and history that he couldn't control his emotions.

Later, he wrote about his feelings in one of his books: Everything spoke so vividly to my soul.
