In a recent study performed by researchers in Japan, dogs were presented with two containers, one of which covered some food.

A researcher then pointed at the container hiding the food, and most dogs would run there to find the reward.

But this time, the dogs realized that the researcher might be untrustworthy, and only 8 percent of them went in the indicated direction.

This study shows that dogs use their experiences to determine whether or not human beings are reliable and adjust their behavior accordingly.
