Tom was driving along a country road during a heavy snowstorm late at night.

Tom은 밤늦게 심한 눈보라가 치는 가운데 시골길을 따라 차를 몰고 있었다.

Suddenly, he heard a loud noise, and the car began to shake.

갑자기 그는 큰 소리를 들었고, 차가 흔들리기 시작했다.

When he pulled over and got out of the car, he found that one of his tires was flat.

그는 차를 세우고 내렸을 때 타이어 중 하나가 펑크 나 있는 것을 알게 되었다.

Usually he kept a spare tire in the trunk, but he had taken it out to make more room for his luggage earlier that day.

보통 그는 트렁크에 예비 타이어를 두었지만, 그날 앞서 짐을 위한 공간을 더 만들기 위해 그것을 꺼내 놓았었다.

There were no houses nearby, and his phone showed no signal.

근처에는 집이 한 채도 없었고, 그의 전화기는 신호가 잡히지 않았다.

“What on earth am I supposed to do now?” he wondered as his shoulders dropped.

‘도대체 이제 나는 어떻게 해야 하지?’라고 그는 어깨를 늘어뜨리며 생각했다.

Just then, a pair of headlights appeared through the falling snow.

바로 그때, 내리는 눈을 뚫고 한 쌍의 헤드라이트가 나타났다.

A young man in a truck stopped and offered help.

트럭을 탄 한 젊은 남성이 멈추고는 도움을 제안했다.

Not only did the man lend Tom his spare tire, but he also helped him change it.

그 남성은 Tom에게 예비 타이어를 빌려주었을 뿐만 아니라 Tom이 그것을 교체하는 것도 도와주었다.

Tom watched the truck disappear down the road as a quiet warmth settled over him.

Tom은 조용한 온기가 자신에게 내려앉는 가운데 트럭이 길 아래로 사라지는 것을 지켜보았다.
