At the Games, Yusra competed in both the 100-meter butterfly and the 100-meter freestyle events.

올림픽 경기에서 Yusra는 접영 100m와 자유형 100m에 모두 출전했다.

When she stepped onto the starting blocks, she was determined to pour everything she had into the competition.

출발대에 섰을 때, 그녀는 가지고 있는 모든 것을 경기에 쏟아붓기로 굳게 결심했다.

She came in 41st out of 45 competitors in the butterfly event and 45th out of 46 in the freestyle event.

그녀는 접영에서는 45명 중 41위, 자유형에서는 46명 중 45위를 기록했다.

Even though she left the Olympics without a medal, she was proud to have made history alongside her teammates.

비록 메달을 따지 못한 채로 올림픽을 떠났지만, 그녀는 팀 동료들과 함께 새로운 역사를 만들었다는 것에 자부심을 느꼈다.

The time on the scoreboard did not matter.

In one interview, when a reporter asked if she could make a statement, she remarked,

한 인터뷰에서 기자가 한마디 해줄 수 있냐고 요청했을 때 그녀는 말했다.

“I want everyone to stay strong for their goals in life,

“저는 모두가 자기 인생의 목표를 위하여 굳세게 버텨내길 바랍니다.

because if you have your goals in front of your eyes, you will do everything you can;

왜냐하면 여러분의 눈앞에 목표가 있으면, 여러분이 할 수 있는 모든 것을 할 것이기 때문입니다.

and I think even if I fail, I will try again.

그리고 설령 제가 실패하더라도, 저는 다시 도전할 거라고 생각해요.

... I want to show everybody that it’s hard to arrive at your dreams, but it’s not impossible.

... 저는 꿈에 도달하는 것은 어렵지만 불가능하지 않다는 것을 모두에게 보여주고 싶습니다.
