Humanitas doesn’t feel like a care home to me.

Humanitas는 제게 요양원처럼 느껴지지 않아요.

Instead, I consider it a community that I am a part of.

대신, 저는 그곳을 제가 속한 공동체라고 생각해요.

Every time I come home, I tell my neighbors about my day.

집에 올 때마다, 저는 이웃들에게 저의 하루에 대해 이야기하죠.

When I have a problem, they always have useful advice to share.

제가 고민이 있을 때, 그분들은 항상 공유해 줄 수 있는 유용한 조언이 있어요.

With so much experience gathered over a lifetime, they possess knowledge that I have yet to acquire.

평생 동안 쌓은 많은 경험과 함께, 그분들은 제가 아직 얻지 못한 지식을 가지고 있어요.

They also teach me lots of little but important things, often without realizing it.

또한 그분들은 모르는 사이에 사소하지만 중요한 것들을 제게 많이 가르쳐 줘요.

For example, I’ve learned the value of having a casual chat over a cup of coffee from them.

예를 들어, 저는 그분들에게서 커피 한 잔과 함께 가볍게 이야기를 나누는 것의 가치를 배웠어요.

It’s a really great way to take a break from rushing around all the time.

그건 항상 분주하게 돌아다니던 것에서 벗어나 잠시 휴식을 취할 수 있는 정말 좋은 방법이에요.

I used to feel sorry for the elderly because I focused only on the things they can’t do.

저는 어르신들이 할 수 없는 일들에만 초점을 맞추었기 때문에, 그분들에 대해 안타까움을 느끼곤 했어요.

When I look at them now, however, I see all the things they can do.

하지만 이제 그분들을 볼 때, 그분들이 할 수 있는 모든 것들이 보여요.

Obviously, Humanitas provides me with much more than a free place to stay.

확실히 Humanitas는 제게 무료로 머물 수 있는 공간 이상의 많은 것을 제공해 줘요.

I’ve made deep, meaningful friendships that I’ll never forget here.

여기서 절대로 잊지 못할 깊고 의미 있는 우정을 쌓았죠.

I intend to stay at Humanitas for at least one more year.

저는 Humanitas에서 적어도 1년은 더 지내려고 해요.

Living here has changed my life in ways I never thought possible, and I’m really grateful for this transformative experience.

여기서 사는 것은 제가 가능하다고 생각하지 못했던 방식으로 제 삶을 변화시켰고, 이러한 변화의 경험에 정말 감사함을 느껴요.

I have learned so much from my neighbors already, but I’m sure there is still a lot more that they can teach me.

제 이웃들에게 이미 많은 것을 배웠지만, 그분들이 제게 가르쳐 줄 수 있는 것이 아직 훨씬 더 많다고 확신해요.
