How can these beans move?

이 콩들은 어떻게 움직일 수 있을까요?

The secret is a tiny moth larva.

비밀은 아주 작은 나방 유충이에요.

A special kind of moth lays its eggs on these beans.

특별한 종류의 나방이 이 콩에 알을 낳아요.

As each larva grows, it makes a tunnel into a bean.

각 유충이 자라면서, 콩 안으로 굴을 뚫어요.

Then it eats the inside of the bean and lives in the empty space.

그 다음 콩의 내부를 먹고 빈 공간에서 살아요.

When the outside of the bean gets too hot, the larva moves its body.

콩의 바깥이 너무 뜨거워지면, 유충이 몸을 움직여요.

This causes the bean to roll to a cooler place.

이것이 콩을 더 시원한 곳으로 굴러가게 해요.

Later, the bean breaks open and a moth comes out.

나중에, 콩이 열리면서 나방이 나와요.

Someday, it will lay its own eggs.

This will make more jumping beans.
