Anna lives in Denmark.

Anna는 덴마크에 살아요.

Yesterday was her birthday.

어제는 그녀의 생일이었어요.

She got a phone call.

전화가 왔어요.

It was her friend Pedro from Brazil.

브라질에 사는 친구 Pedro였어요.

"Happy birthday," he said.

"생일 축하해," 그가 말했어요.

"How do you celebrate birthdays in Denmark?"

"덴마크에서는 생일을 어떻게 축하해?"

Anna explained that her family hung a flag outside the house, so people knew it was somebody's birthday.

Anna는 가족들이 집 밖에 깃발을 걸어서 사람들이 누군가의 생일이라는 것을 안다고 설명했어요.

And when she was sleeping, her family put gifts next to her bed.

그리고 그녀가 자는 동안 가족들이 침대 옆에 선물을 놓아줬어요.

"It was a great surprise when I woke up," she said.

"잠에서 깼을 때 정말 깜짝 놀랐어," 그녀가 말했어요.

"How do you celebrate birthdays in Brazil?"

"브라질에서는 생일을 어떻게 축하해?"

Pedro explained that his family decorated the house with beautiful flowers.

Pedro는 가족들이 예쁜 꽃으로 집을 장식한다고 설명했어요.

Then they gave him special sweets.

They were made with chocolate, peanuts, and coconut.

Finally, everyone pulled his ears.

"I'm ten years old, so they pulled my ears ten times!"
