Angela's younger brother was in the kitchen.

Angela의 남동생이 부엌에 있었어요.

There were eggs, flour, and sugar on the counter.

조리대 위에는 달걀, 밀가루, 설탕이 있었어요.

"What are you doing, Victor?" asked Angela.

"뭐 하고 있어, Victor?" Angela가 물었어요.

"I'm making cookies," he answered.

"쿠키를 만들고 있어," 그가 대답했어요.

"But I'm confused."

"그런데 헷갈려."

Victor had a recipe from the internet.

Victor는 인터넷에서 레시피를 가져왔어요.

It said he needed three eggs, two cups of flour, and one cup of sugar.

그가 달걀 3개, 밀가루 2컵, 설탕 1컵이 필요하다고 써 있었어요.

Victor wanted to make thirty cookies.

Victor는 쿠키 30개를 만들고 싶었어요.

But the recipe was for only ten cookies.

그런데 레시피는 오직 쿠키 10개 분량이었어요.

"What should I do?" he asked.

"어떻게 해야 해?" 그가 물었어요.

Angela explained that it was a simple math problem.

Angela는 그것이 간단한 수학 문제라고 설명했어요.

Ten times three equals thirty.

10 곱하기 3은 30이에요.

So he had to multiply everything by three.

그래서 그는 모든 것에 3을 곱해야 했어요.

He needed nine eggs instead of three and six cups of flour instead of two.

그는 달걀 3개 대신 9개, 밀가루 2컵 대신 6컵이 필요했어요.

"And three cups of sugar!" said Victor.

"그리고 설탕은 3컵!" Victor가 말했어요.

"That's right," said Angela.

"맞아," Angela가 말했어요.
