If you had a lot of money, would you rather buy a luxury mansion or a single tulip bulb?

But a long time ago in the Netherlands, people chose to buy tulip bulbs.

In the early 17th century, the Dutch were very interested in flowers, especially tulips.

Many different types of tulips were created.

More and more people wanted to buy rare and unusual tulips, so prices kept going up.

Some people traded everything for tulip bulbs, but they never intended to plant the bulbs.

They purchased the bulbs with the intention of selling them again for a higher price.

In the Netherlands, people use a special kind of garbage bag.
