In some parts of Africa, goats climb trees.

아프리카의 어떤 지역에서, 염소들은 나무를 오른다.

Why?

왜 그럴까?

The answer is very simple.

답은 매우 간단하다.

It’s because they want to eat the fruit on the trees!

왜냐하면 그들은 나무에 있는 열매를 먹고 싶기 때문이다!

In southwestern Morocco, in North Africa, it is very hot and dry, so most trees cannot survive.

북아프리카의 모로코 남서부는, 매우 덥고 건조해서, 대부분의 나무가 살아남을 수 없다.

Only argan trees grow well here and argan fruit is the only food for goats.

오직 아르간 나무만이 이곳에서 잘 자라며 아르간 열매가 염소들에게 유일한 먹이이다.

But climbing up these trees is not easy for them.

그러나 이 나무들에 오르는 것은 염소에게 쉽지 않다.

Argan trees are eight to ten meters high, so they are too tall for goats.

아르간 나무는8에서10미터 높이여서,염소들에게는 너무 높다.

The trees even have many sharp thorns.

그 나무들은 심지어 날카로운 가시가 많다.

Against all these difficulties, the goats must climb the argan trees to live!

이 모든 어려움에 맞서, 염소들은 살기 위해 아르간 나무를 올라야만 한다!

When the goats eat the argan fruit, they eat it whole.

염소들이 아르간 열매를 먹을 때, 그들은 그것을 통째로 먹는다.

But their bodies can’t digest the nut.

The nut finally comes out in their droppings.

People found that goat droppings were useful.

They collect them to produce argan oil from the nuts.

You see another bumper car, and drive straight toward it.

You are about to bump into the car.

When the two cars crash into each other, your car hits the other car and the driver feels a strong force.

At the same time, you will feel the same amount of force.

This is Newton’s third law of motion: “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

The other driver feels the action of your car, and you feel the reaction in the opposite direction.

The next time you visit an amusement park, get in a bumper car and try out Newton’s law.
