Other fish create electricity to communicate.

Electric eels use special organs to produce strong and weak electric shocks.

Strong electric shocks are used to frighten their predators.

Weak shocks are used to send messages to other eels.

These shocks can tell others their sex or species.

이러한 충격파는 다른 개체들에게 그들의 성별이나 종을 알려 줄 수 있다.

Fish can also communicate through light.

물고기들은 또한 빛을 통해 의사 소통을 할 수 있다.

In deep water, there is almost no light.

깊은 물 속에는 빛이 거의 없다.

This makes it hard to find food.

With light organs, lantern fish can find food.

The light from these organs attracts small fish.

So lantern fish don’t need to go hunting.
