A Journey to Find My Dream

나의 꿈을 찾기 위한 여정

Some of you have a dream job in mind, but others do not.

여러분 중에는 이미 꿈의 직업을 가지고 있는 사람도 있고, 그렇지 않은 사람도 있다.

It is not easy for you to find a future job.

미래 직업을 찾는 것은 쉽지 않다.

But we all need to answer the question, “What do you want to be in the future?”

그러나 우리는 모두 "미래에 무엇이 되고 싶은가?"라는 질문에 답해야 한다.

Think about the following questions, and you will find a path to your future job.

다음의 질문들을 생각해 봐라, 그러면 여러분의 미래 직업으로 가는 길을 찾게 될 것이다.

Why Do We Work?

왜 우리는 일을 할까?

First, we work to make money.

첫째, 우리는 돈을 벌기 위해 일한다.

Our jobs help us get paid so we can make a living.

우리의 직업은 우리가 생활비를 벌 수 있게 도와준다.

Second, we work to take on social roles.

둘째, 우리는 사회적 역할을 맡기 위해 일한다.

For example, street cleaners keep our towns and cities clean, and police officers make our society safe.

예를 들어, 거리 청소부는 우리의 마을과 도시를 깨끗하게 유지하고, 경찰관은 우리의 사회를 안전하게 만든다.

We rely on others to do these important jobs, and everyone has a special role to play.

우리는 이런 중요한 일을 하는 사람들에게 의존한다. 모두가 맡은 특별한 역할이 있다.

Third, we work to feel proud of our work.

셋째, 우리는 우리의 일에 대해 자부심을 느끼기 위해 일한다.

By working, we can help others and show our abilities.

일을 통해 우리는 다른 사람을 도울 수 있고, 우리의 능력을 보여줄 수 있다.

In the end, we work to find meaning in life.

결국, 우리는 삶의 의미를 찾기 위해 일한다.

How Can I Find My Job?

어떻게 나의 직업을 찾을 수 있을까?

Everyone has their own favorite activities.

모두가 자신만의 좋아하는 활동이 있다.

Try to connect them to a real job, and you will find your path.

그것을 실제 직업과 연결해 보라. 그러면 너의 길을 찾을 것이다.

If you like watching TV shows, you can be a producer or a writer for those shows.

TV 프로그램 보는 것을 좋아한다면, 그 프로그램의 프로듀서나 작가가 될 수 있다.

However, liking something and being good at it are not the same.

하지만 무언가를 좋아하는 것과 그것을 잘하는 것은 다르다.

Playing soccer as a job is different from playing it as a hobby.

축구를 직업으로 하는 것은 취미로 하는 것과는 다르다.

You love soccer but aren’t good at it.

당신은 축구를 좋아하지만 잘하지 못한다고 하자.

Then you can look for other jobs in soccer.

그렇다면 당신은 축구와 관련된 다른 직업을 찾을 수 있다.

If you are good at taking care of people, you can become a soccer player’s manager.

사람을 돌보는 것을 잘한다면, 축구 선수의 매니저가 될 수 있다.

Or you can work as a marketer for a soccer team if you are good at thinking creatively.

또는 창의적으로 생각하는 것을 잘한다면, 축구팀의 마케터로 일할 수 있다.

Look for jobs that match your favorite things and your abilities.

너의 좋아하는 것과 너의 능력에 맞는 직업을 찾아라.

What Do I Have to Do Now?

지금 나는 무엇을 해야 하나요?

First, focus on your school subjects now.

먼저, 지금 당신의 학교 과목에 집중하라.

They give you the basic skills for your future.

이 과목들은 당신의 미래를 위한 기본적인 기술을 제공한다.

These skills help you make good choices.

이 기술은 당신이 좋은 선택을 할 수 있도록 도와준다.

Second, gather information about jobs that interest you.

두 번째로, 당신에게 흥미로운 직업에 대한 정보를 모아라.

You can watch videos and movies, or read books about them.

비디오와 영화를 보거나, 관련된 책을 읽을 수 있다.

This way, you can learn about real work in those jobs.

이렇게 하면 그 직업에서 실제로 무슨 일을 하는지 배울 수 있다.

Finally, keep trying new things!

마지막으로, 새로운 것들을 계속 시도하라!

Your interests can change often.

당신의 관심사는 자주 바뀔 수 있다.

It is very important for you to experience different activities.

다양한 활동을 경험하는 것은 매우 중요하다.

Our world keeps changing, and jobs will also change.

우리 세상은 계속 변화하고 있고, 직업도 마찬가지로 변화할 것이다.

Keep exploring, and you’ll find your dream job soon.
