Martin Luther King, Jr.는 어떤가?

The original script of his speech, believe it or not, didn’t contain the words “I have a dream.”

믿거나 말거나, 그의 연설문의 원래 원고에는 ‘나에게는 꿈이 있습니다.’라는 말이 들어 있지 않았다.

The night before the biggest speech of his life, he was up past 3 a.m. rewriting his script.

자신의 인생에서 가장 중요한 연설을 하기 전날 밤, 그는 원고를 고쳐 쓰면서 새벽 3시가 넘게 깨어 있었다.

He was sitting in the audience waiting for his turn to go onto the stage and still writing notes on his script.

After he got on stage, 11 minutes in, he heard Mahalia Jackson, his favorite singer, cry out: “Tell them about the dream, Martin.”

Encouraged by a shout from the audience, he drew upon some of his past talks, and the result became the landmark speech “I have a dream.”

By delaying the task of finalizing the speech until the very last minute, he left himself open to the widest range of possible ideas.

The text wasn’t set in stone, and he had the freedom to improvise.
