We Follow the Crowd

우리는 군중을 따라간다

Few people say they enjoy waiting in a long line to buy a ticket or product.

티켓이나 제품을 구매하기 위해 긴 줄을 서서 기다리는 것을 즐긴다고 말하는 사람은 거의 없을 것이다.

In real life, however, people often put up with waiting in line for hours to purchase a popular product.

하지만 실생활에서 사람들은 인기 있는 제품을 구매하기 위해 몇 시간씩 줄을 서서 기다리는 것을 참고 견딜 때가 많다.

When a particular fashion item, a beauty product, or a brand becomes popular, we may feel pushed to purchase the product to keep up with the trend.

특정 패션 아이템, 미용용품, 또는 한 브랜드가 인기를 끌면, 트렌드를 따라잡기 위해 해당 제품을 구매해야 할 압박감을 느낄 수 있다.

In other words, we often choose to do something because everyone else is doing it.

다시 말해, 우리는 자주 다른 사람들이 모두 하고 있기 때문에 무언가를 하기로 선택한다.

The more people do something, the more likely we are to follow the act.

더 많은 사람이 무언가를 할수록 우리도 그 행동을 따를 가능성이 높다.

How can we prevent others from influencing our shopping decisions?

어떻게 다른 사람들이 우리의 쇼핑 결정에 영향을 미치는 것을 막을 수 있을까?

The next time you feel compelled to buy a product in high demand because others do it, first ask yourself if you really need it.

다음번에 다른 사람들이 구매하기 때문에 수요가 높은 제품을 구매해야 한다는 압박감을 느끼면, 먼저 그 제품이 정말 필요한지 자신에게 물어보라.

Don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd.

군중 속에서 눈에 띄는 것을 두려워하지 마라.
