“When did you find out the diamond was missing?” I asked.

“다이아몬드가 없어졌다는 걸 언제 알았어요?” 내가 물었어요.

“This afternoon,” Frigga said.

“오늘 오후에요.” Frigga가 대답했어요.

“I checked my safe in the morning and hid the key under the table.

“아침에 금고를 확인하고 열쇠를 탁자 아래에 숨겼어요.

Then, I saw my maid come into my room to clean.

그 후, 가정부가 내 방으로 청소하러 들어오는 걸 봤어요.

When I came back in the afternoon, I heard footsteps in my room.

오후에 다시 돌아왔을 때, 내 방에서 발소리가 들렸어요.

I ran to the door and saw the thief escaping through the open window.

나는 문으로 달려갔고 도둑이 열린 창문을 통해 도망치는 걸 봤어요.

I couldn’t see the face.

얼굴은 볼 수 없었어요.

Then, I found that my safe was open, and my diamond was gone!

그리고 금고가 열려 있고, 내 다이아몬드가 없어졌다는 걸 알게 되었어요!

I was so surprised that I screamed.”

너무 놀라서 비명을 질렀죠.”

“Do you know who else was in the house at the time?”

“그때 집에 다른 사람이 있었나요?”

“Many people live in this castle. They will be here soon.”

“이 성에는 많은 사람들이 살아요. 곧 다들 올 거예요.”
