Why is the computer mouse called a mouse?

Douglas Engelbart created the first computer mouse with other computer scientists in 1968.

Douglas Engelbart가 1968년에 다른 컴퓨터 과학자들과 함께 최초의 컴퓨터 마우스를 만들었어요.

The first computer mouse was much larger than today’s mouse.

최초의 컴퓨터 마우스는 오늘날의 마우스보다 훨씬 컸어요.

It was a wooden box.

그것은 나무 상자였어요.

It only had one little round button.

그것은 단지 한 개의 작고 둥근 버튼만 있었어요.

It had wheels on the bottom and a long cord on the end.

바닥에는 바퀴들이 있고 끝에는 긴 전선이 있었어요.

The long cord looked like a mouse tail.

그 긴 전선은 쥐의 꼬리처럼 보였어요.

That’s why the scientists called it a mouse.

그래서 과학자들이 그것을 마우스라고 불렀어요.

Nowadays, the shape and size of the mouse have changed.

But one thing did not change.

The mouse still looks like a little mouse!
