If you wear glasses or contact lenses, you can thank plastic for giving you good eyesight.

Today, actual glass isn’t used to make eyeglass lenses anymore.

현재는 안경렌즈 제작에 진짜 유리는 더이상 사용되지 않는다.

Instead, plastic is used.

Plastic eyeglass lenses are lighter, thinner, less likely to break and harder to scratch.

플라스틱 안경은 더 가볍고, 더 얇고, 부서질 가능성은 더 낮고, 흠집을 내기는 더 어렵다.

And contact lenses are made of plastic, too.

This makes them more comfortable than those that were made of glass.

While plastic causes some environmental problems, it also brings us many benefits.

Without it, our lives would be much more difficult.
