I couldn’t believe it.

Painkillers are medications that help us alleviate or reduce pain.

They come in different forms and are used to treat a variety of aches and ailments.

Although it may feel like they go straight to the specific area that hurts on your body, they actually don’t.

비록 그것들이 당신의 몸에서 아픈 특정한 부위로 곧장 가는 것처럼 느껴질 수도 있지만, 실제로는 그렇지 않다.

When you become injured, the cells in that part of the body release chemicals called prostaglandins.

당신이 부상을 당했을 때, 몸의 그 부분에 있는 세포들은 프로스타글란딘이라고 불리는 화학 물질을 분비한다.

The body’s nerve endings detect these chemicals and send messages to the brain about where the body is hurt.

Then the brain responds and makes you feel that pain.

However, painkillers stop the cells from releasing prostaglandins, and therefore limit the pain messages the brain receives.

This ensures you don’t feel any pain, or at least dulls it so you’re more comfortable.
