In New Orleans, you can see marching jazz bands playing joyful music during funerals.

This might seem strange, but African Americans in New Orleans often celebrate at funerals.

There is a good reason for this.

When Africans were brought to New Orleans hundreds of years ago, they worked as slaves and had hard lives.
