Many babies are born with a full head of hair.

많은 아기들이 머리에 머리카락이 가득 나 있는 채로 태어난다.

This hair, however, often falls out a short time later.

그런데 이 머리카락은 시간이 조금 지나면 종종 빠진다.

Although this may worry parents, it’s perfectly natural.

이것이 부모를 걱정시키기도 하지만 그것은 지극히 정상적인 것이다.

Before babies are born, they have high levels of hormones from their mother’s body.

아기는 태어나기 전에, 엄마의 몸으로부터 높은 수치의 호르몬을 갖는다.

These hormones can cause hair growth.

이 호르몬이 머리카락의 성장을 초래한다.

After birth, the hormone levels drop and hair growth stops.

출생 후, 호르몬 수치는 떨어지고 머리카락의 성장은 멈춘다.

Later, when new hair starts to grow, it will often push out the old hair.

Interestingly, this new hair can be different from their original hair.
