What is it?

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 every year.

파이 데이는 매년3월 14일에 기념됩니다.

That’s because the first three numbers of pi (π) are 3, 1, and 4.

왜냐하면 파이(π)의 첫 세 개의 숫자가 3, 1, 그리고 4이기 때문이죠.

What will we do?

We will have a pie-throwing contest and a pie-eating contest.

우리는 파이 던지기 대회와 파이 먹기 대회를 할 것입니다.

Why? Because the words “pie” and “pi” sound the same!

왜냐고요 ‘파이(pie)’라는 단어가 ‘파이(pi)’와 똑같이 발음되기 때문이죠!

There will also be a presentation about why pi is such an interesting number.

파이가 왜 그렇게 흥미로운 숫자인지에 대한 발표도 있을 예정입니다.

Where and when is it?

어디에서 그리고 언제 하는가?

The festival will be held after school on Wednesday, March 14, in the school gym.

축제는 방과 후에 3월 14일 수요일에 학교 체육관에서 열릴 것입니다.

It starts at 4:00 p.m. and will last until 6:00 p.m.

그것은 오후 4시에 시작합니다 그리고 6시까지 계속될 것입니다.

You can buy a ticket for $2 from any member of the math club.
