Mr. Brown lived with an old parrot.

Brown(브라운) 씨는 나이 든 앵무새와 함께 살았다.

His parrot was a good friend to him for many years.

그의 앵무새는 그에게 수년 동안 좋은 친구였다.

It was good at speaking.

그것은 말을 잘했다.

Every night, before going to bed, the parrot said to Mr. Brown, “Good night.

매일 밤, 잠자리에 들기 전에, 그 앵무새는 Brown 씨에게 인사했다 “잘 자요.

See you soon!”

곧 만나요!”

One night, however, the parrot only said, “Good night!”

하지만 어느 날 밤, 그 앵무새는 “잘 자요!”라고만 말했다.

This worried Mr. Brown because it was not the parrot’s usual farewell.

이것은 Brown 씨를 걱정시켰는데 그것이 그 앵무새의 평상시 작별 인사가 아니었기 때문이다.

He decided to stay up all night to watch the parrot.

그는 앵무새를 지켜보기 위해 밤을 새우기로 결심했다.

But his parrot never woke up again.

하지만 그의 앵무새는 결코 다시 깨어나지 않았다.

Then he realized why the parrot didn’t say, “See you soon.”

그때 그는 왜 앵무새가 “곧 만나요.”라고 말하지 않았는지 깨달았다.
