Learning from Burrs: Inventing an All-Purpose Fastener

가시 식물에서 배우기: 만능 고정 장치의 발명

One day, a Swiss engineer, George de Mestral, was hiking in the woods with his dog.

어느 날, 스위스 공학자 George de Mestral은 개와 함께 숲에서 산책하고 있었다.

On his way home, he saw that burrs were stuck to his clothes and his dog's hair.

집으로 가는 길에, 그는 가시 식물이 그의 옷과 개의 털에 달라붙어 있는 것을 보았다.

He wanted to know how that happened.

He took a closer look at the burrs and noticed that the ends of the burr needles were not straight.
