My first idea was to use fire.

나의 첫 번째 아이디어는 불을 사용하는 것이었어.

I thought lions were afraid of it.

나는 사자들이 불을 무서워할 거라고 생각했어.

Sadly, it didn't work.

슬프게도 그것은 효과가 없었어.

Instead, the fire helped the lions to better watch the cows move.

대신에 불은 사자들이 소들이 움직이는 것을 더욱 잘 볼 수 있도록 도왔어.

Then I had another idea.

그러고 나서 나는 다른 아이디어를 생각해 냈어.

It was to use a scarecrow.

그것은 허수아비를 이용하는 거였어.

But the lions were very clever.

하지만 사자들은 매우 영리했어.

The first day, they were turned away.

첫날에는 사자들이 돌아갔어.

On the second day, they jumped in and killed more animals.

둘째 날에는 사자들이 뛰어들어 와서 더 많은 동물들을 죽였어.

One night, I was walking around the cows with a light, and the lions didn't come.

어느 날 밤, 나는 전등을 들고 소들의 주위를 걷고 있었는데 사자들은 오지 않았어.

I discovered that lions were afraid of a moving light.

나는 사자들이 움직이는 불빛을 두려워한다는 것을 발견했어.

So I came up with an idea.

그래서 나는 한 가지 아이디어를 생각해 냈어.

I decided to invent lights that move electronically.

나는 전기로 움직이는 전등을 발명하기로 결심했어.

Because I like machines, I could find what I needed to make the lights.

나는 기계를 좋아하기 때문에 전등을 만들기 위해 내가 필요했던 것들을 찾을 수 있었어.

I found an old car battery, a small device from a motorcycle, a switch, and a broken electronic light.

나는 오래된 자동차 배터리, 오토바이에서 찾은 작은 장치, 스위치, 그리고 부서진 전등을 찾았어.
