Here's a dish / with water in it.

여기 접시가 있습니다 / 물이 담긴

Now, / I'll put a candle / in the middle of the dish.

이제 / 촛불을 놓겠습니다 / 접시 가운데에

Next, / I'll light the candle / and cover it / with a glass.

다음으로 / 촛불에 불을 붙이고 / 덮겠습니다 / 유리로

How come it rose / into the glass?

어떻게 그것이 올라갔을까요 / 유리 안으로?

Air expands / when it gets hot / and creates higher pressure.

공기는 팽창합니다 / 뜨거워질 때 / 그리고 더 높은 압력을 만듭니다

When it gets cold, / air contracts / and creates lower pressure.

차가워질 때 / 공기는 수축합니다 / 그리고 더 낮은 압력을 만듭니다

When the flame burnt out, / the air inside the glass cooled down.

불꽃이 꺼졌을 때 / 유리 안의 공기가 식었습니다

As the air cooled down, / the air pressure dropped.

공기가 식으면서 / 공기 압력이 떨어졌습니다

So the air outside the glass / was at a higher pressure.

그래서 유리 밖의 공기가 / 더 높은 압력을 가지게 되었습니다

It pushed the water / into the glass.
