This year, I had a special summer because I visited Mongolia for the first time.
나는 올해 몽골을 처음으로 방문해서 특별한 여름을 보냈다.
My friend Altan is from Mongolia.
내 친구 Altan은 몽골 출신이다.
His grandmother invited me to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.
그의 할머니께서는 몽골의 수도인 울란바토르에 나를 초대하셨다.
After a four-hour flight from Seoul, Altan and I arrived at Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar.
서울에서 네 시간 비행 후 Altan과 나는 울란바토르의 칭기즈 칸 국제공항에 도착했다.
It took thirty minutes by taxi from the airport to Altan’s grandmother’s house.
공항에서 Altan의 할머니 댁까지 택시로 30분이 걸렸다.
Her house is a ger, a traditional Mongolian house.
할머니의 집은 몽골 전통 가옥인 게르이다.
It is a big tent, but it is cozy inside.
큰 텐트이지만 내부는 아늑하다.
When we entered, something smelled wonderful.
우리가 들어갔을 때, 뭔가 좋은 냄새가 났다.
It was from the khorkhog that she was cooking for us.
그녀가 우리를 위해 요리하고 있던 호르호그에서 나는 냄새였다.
Khorkhog is a Mongolian barbecue.
호르호그는 몽골식 바비큐이다.
It is made of lamb and cooked with hot stones.
양고기로 만들어졌으며 뜨거운 돌로 요리되었다.
I was moved when Altan said Mongolians serve khorkhogto special guests.
나는 Altan이 몽골인들은 특별한 손님에게 호르호그를 대접한다고 말했을 때 감동을 받았다.
It was so delicious that I asked for more.
그것이 너무 맛있어서 나는 더 달라고 했다.
After dinner, Altan and I went outside to see the night sky.
저녁 식사 후, Altan과 나는 밤하늘을 보기 위해 밖으로 나갔다.
The sky was full of bright stars.
하늘은 밝은 별들로 가득했다.
I felt like I was in a magical place.
나는 신비한 장소에 있는 것처럼 느꼈다.
During the next three days, Altan showed me around and helped me experience Mongolian culture.
그 후 3일 동안, Altan은 나를 구경시켜 주었고 몽골 문화를 경험할 수 있게 도와주었다.
Every moment was fun and exciting, but I had the most fun when I rode a camel in the Gobi Desert.
매 순간이 재미있고 흥미진진했지만, 고비 사막에서 낙타를 탈 때가 가장 재미있었다.
At first, I was scared because the camel was taller than I expected.
처음에는 내가 예상했던 것보다 낙타의 키가 커서 무서웠다.
But once I sat on its back, I soon got used to its movement.
그러나 낙타 등에 앉자 곧 움직임에 익숙해졌다.
From the camel’s back, the view of the desert was truly amazing.
낙타의 등에서 보는 사막의 경치는 정말로 놀라웠다.
My visit to Mongolia was a special experience in many ways.
내가 몽골을 방문한 것은 여러 면에서 특별한 경험이었다.
It gave me a great chance to get to know my friend’s country and culture.
내 친구의 나라와 문화를 알 수 있는 좋은 기회가 되었다.
I want to visit Mongolia again someday!
나는 언젠가 몽골을 다시 방문하고 싶다!
