A Lesson with an Irish Teacher

아일랜드 선생님과의 수업

In English class, we had a special lesson about Irish culture.

영어 시간에 우리는 아일랜드 문화에 관한 특별한 수업을 했다.

A tall man visited our class and gave a lesson about his country.

키가 큰 남자가 우리 반을 방문해서 그의 나라에 관해서 가르쳐 주었다.

He was wearing a green T-shirt.

그는 녹색 티셔츠를 입고 있었다.

It was not easy to understand his accent at first, but we got used to it little by little.

Every March 17, Irish people all over the world celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

매년 3월 17일에 전 세계에 있는 아일랜드 사람들은 성 패트릭의 날을 기념합니다.

Actually, we've been celebrating this day for more than 1,000 years.

사실, 우리는 이날을 천 년 이상 기념해 오고 있습니다.

On this day, there is a big parade, and everyone wears green.

이날에는 대규모 행진이 펼쳐지고 모두가 녹색 옷을 입습니다.

You're not Irish if you don't wear green on this day.

이날 녹색 옷을 입지 않는다면 아일랜드 사람이 아니죠.

We watched a short video about St. Patrick's Day.

우리는 성 패트릭의 날에 관한 짧은 비디오를 한편 보았다.

In the video, people were celebrating their special holiday.

비디오에서 사람들은 그들의 특별한 명절을 축하하고 있었다.

Everyone was wearing green.

모두가 녹색 옷을 입고 있었다.

Even some people's faces were green.

심지어 어떤 사람들은 얼굴도 녹색이었다.

After the video, Mr. O'Neill taught us a chant.

비디오를 본 후에 O’Neill 선생님은 우리에게 챈트를 가르쳐 주셨다.

He said many children in Ireland love it.

The chant was very simple.

We all said "Slán!" loudly and waved good-bye to him.
